THE KETO DIET & WHY I LOVE BIOHACKING IT BY DRINKING KETONES

Alrighty- I am super pumped to chat about this today because I get a ton of messages daily asking about the keto diet and if I follow it to a T as well as what in the heck is the new awesome "bio-hacking" supplement I am drinking that is making me feel awesome again. So I thought I would share some thoughts and solid info with ya! 
 
Keto//OS (Ketone Operating System) is what I discovered about a year ago and started drinking almost a year ago- after hearing about it for about 2 years from my husband who kept saying " Molly- you would love this..." but me being SUPER STUBBORN waited until finally I caved haha! Really until finally I was tired of feeling like complete crap!
 
I knew that following a strict keto diet was hard! I have also done it many times and I LOVED how my body felt in ketosis so when I found out about keto/os ( also known as Keto Max and Keto Nat- the newest formulas) I had to give it a try!
 
Almost a year in how and oh my gosh I feel like a new woman! In case you aren’t familiar with it pure therapeutic ketones by Pruvit- it is a powder you mix with water and ice and drink once (or twice) daily! It tastes delicious and it puts your body into a state of ketosis in under an hour by flooding your body with exogenous ketones. WOOHOO!!!!

Remember the Atkins Diet – high fat, low carb?
It’s a tough diet to follow, but one that works to shed weight quickly if you can endure the food restrictions.A similar diet is the Ketogenic Diet which is a high fat/moderate protein/low carb diet and there are plenty of restrictions. So what if you don’t want to follow a strict diet but you still want the benefits of being in ketosis?

The Ketogenic Diet
But think about it – when’s the last time you had to endure a prolonged period of fasting? Give up pizza or bread? Yea, never, let’s be real!
We are a carb-loving society for sure, and that’s why our waistlines have gotten out of control.
Metabolic syndrome is projected to surpass cigarette smoking as the leading factor for heart disease. Obesity and lack of activity are to blame.
We, as a population (me included) love all the carbs that are so abundant.
We will never go into a state of ketosis naturally unless we follow an extremely strict ketogenic diet and even then it can take weeks to get there.
The long of the short is, drinking exogenous ketones once or twice per day allows your body to safely go into ketosis and burn fat for fuel without having to follow a strict diet. #winwin
 
Do You Have to Eat a Special Diet to Lose Weight when drinking ketones?
 
Many people ask me how to take Keto MAX or Keto NAT and this is my recommendation:
 
* Drink Ketones and a new diet will follow naturally – because you won’t be as hungry and your carb cravings will be reduced! It becomes much easier to eat smaller, healthier meals. ( this i noticed within the first couple days and it was such a great feeling)
 
The folks at Pruvit recommend a low carb or keto diet ( or what I call a keto-ish diet :) for optimal results (low carb/high fat), but you don’t have to follow this diet to experience benefits from drinking Ketones. 
 
Will you burn more fat if you do?
YES!
At the very least, try to eat low carb – continuing to eat a high sugar and carb diet is not going to help you stay in ketosis.
If you’re following a ketogenic diet already and have trouble getting into or staying in ketosis – drinking Ketones can help you stay there.
If you want to cheat with carbs now and then, you will stay in ketosis if you’re drinking Ketones. In other words, live a little while staying on track which is exactly what I do! Drinking a serving of Keto OS prior to a high carb meal will help with insulin resistance, the carbs won’t affect you as much.
